What you will do

Working within the Sterility Assurance team, under general supervision, the individual will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient sterilization practices, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the maintenance of classification and cleanliness of controlled environments in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Monitoring facilities, including water production facilities used for cleaning processes.
  • Managing the coordination of process monitoring activities under the responsibility of the Sterility Assurance team.
  • Analyzing and controlling process trends, especially related to lab testing, cleaning and sterilization. Continuously identifying opportunities to stabilize trends and utilizing statistical, and other process controls, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Mentoring and training team members and functional groups as needed.
  • Participating in global initiatives and inter-site expert groups to develop and harmonize sterilization and internal laboratory practices (including planning, management of consumables and inventory, as well as maintaining qualified and validated equipment and process status).
  • Managing validation and requalification activities and related projects.
  • Implementing and adapting indicators related to processes and facilities under the team's responsibility.
  • Maintaining relationships with and supporting suppliers for which the Sterility Assurance team is responsible.
  • Acting as a global expert, sharing knowledge within the Stryker organization worldwide.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
  • Proposing internal projects to the manager for the evaluation and implementation of global strategies.
What you need

Required:

  • Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or related science
  • Minimum 4 years of applicable professional experience in in medical devices, pharmaceutical or related industry (highly regulated industry in healthcare)
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Working knowledge of external regulatory standards in environmental monitoring/cleanrooms, microbiology/sterilization, cleaning biocompatibility, and lab testing such as: EU MDR, GMP, ISO Standards, EP.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of various sterilization modalities e.g. gamma, steam.
