A leading space technology company in Paris is seeking a Software/Embedded Software Developer to join their Control Command EGSE team. The ideal candidate will develop software applications using C language on Linux platforms, work on software integration and testing, and manage software configurations. A Bac+5 degree in Software Engineering or Electronics is required, alongside strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in Linux.

Software/Embedded Software Developer - Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)


This position is intended for a Software/Embedded software Engineer in the frame of the Control Command EGSE team within the Avionics Group of MaiaSpace. The role covers the Software development and testing for the family of Control Benches and EGSE products of MaiaSpace, in its several contexts of application.

This considers the following types of scenarios:

  • Definition and Development of Ground EGSE units for specific Launch System functions.

  • Software Integration and testing of EGSE units in development platform (HWIL/IronBird-like aviation).

  • Management of software product cycle of EGSE units, including updates and evolution.

  • Development of supporting software for EGSE products.

The position will also engage in day-to-day team activities and may also participate on other activities depending on its experience and field of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software applications using C language on Linux platforms compliant with software quality standards (e.g. power of ten, MISRA C, etc.).

  • Design, implement, and optimize Software EGSE unit functions.

  • Integration of new unit interfaces for dedicated functions, including industrial buses.

  • Management of software configuration and repository (Gitlab).

  • Validation of units in Control Bench family platforms.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions with hardware components.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and system issues in a timely manner.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software development and automation.

  • Work within agile methodologies to ensure efficient and adaptive project management (AGILE-MSAFE).


General competences & abilities:

  • Proficiency in software/electrical/electronic engineering.

  • Proficiency in C programming language.

  • Strong experience with Linux operating systems.

  • Experience with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) interfaces.

  • Competence with electrical interfaces and communication networks (Ethernet).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel to French Guiana as part of job requirements.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with coding means and tools used in industrial automation (e.g., PLC programming, SCADA systems).

  • Experience with Virtualisation and/or container platforms.

  • Previous experience in industrial automation or related fields.

  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Understanding of network protocols and communication standards used in automation (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA).

  • Experience with validation of industrial sites and/or satellite validation platforms (EGSE).

Qualification:

  • Engineering degree (Bac+5 or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Electronics engineering and Embedded systems.

  • Other degrees may be considered depending on the candidate’s career path and relevant experience in industrial automation, EGSE or related domains.

  • Profile with 2 to 7 years of experience.
