A global reinsurance company located in Paris is seeking an expert in IFRS reporting and investment accounting. The role involves developing accounting methodologies, advising on financial solutions, and preparing IFRS training. Ideal candidates have 7-10 years of experience in the (re)insurance sector, with strong knowledge of IFRS 17. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential. The position offers a collaborative team environment and significant impact on financial product development.
Developing, producing, and documenting the accounting methodology and reporting policies (IFRS, FGAAP, CSRD, S2 EBS).
Ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance of the Group’s financial and non‑financial publications with the above standards and reporting key accounting topics to the Audit Committee and contributing to the governance of consolidated accounts.
Reviewing complex transactions in accordance with IFRS and locals GAAP standards, drafting and reviewing accounting memos in collaboration with business and local teams.
Monitoring the evolution of existing and new of reporting standards and guidelines , analyzing the impacts, and coordinating regulatory watch activities through participation in various industry bodies, working groups and forums
Analyzing business and financial reporting problems to assist ALM, Capital Management, Financial engineering and other deal and transaction initiatives in achieving desired outcomes
supporting complex Life and Health financial transactions as a subject matter experts as well as the elaboration of new Fin Sol proposition.
Preparing and leading IFRS training sessions for the finance community.
Be the technical life insurance and investment expert within the Reporting Standards team.
Consult and advise internal and external business and client teams on reporting and accounting topics related to the executions and development of new solutions and financial solutions reinsurance products with risk transfer and hedge accounting considerations and contribute to developing products that provide client solutions, etc.
Provide technical insights and formal SCOR positions on insurance methodology topics in a multi-norm context (such as contract boundaries, homogeneous groups of contracts, level of aggregation, discount rates, acquisition costs, attributable expenses, etc)
Actively participate to regulatory watch and analysis and anticipation of impacts for SCOR of developments in Solvency II and financial reporting standards
Participate as a reporting standards expert in cross‑functional projects (ALM, Treasury, M&A, Alternative Solutions, Finance Transformations, etc.).
Draft or review accounting memos for audits on various topics related to the above activities
Experience in the (re)insurance sector, with a life actuarial and / or investment accounting background.
Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 and FGAAP accounting standards.
7 to 10 years of experience in a Big 4 firm and / or the industry (reinsurance preferred, P&C expertise).
Experience with ALM or structured products
Ability to work as part of a team, collaborative, problem solver and solution‑oriented.
Senior stakeholder management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills – able to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing to senior management and clients.
