What is the role About?
As a Project Manager for large capital expenditure industrial projects, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of complex industrial projects involving substantial investments. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and other stakeholders, to ensure the timely and cost‑effective delivery of projects while meeting the IPS quality‑ and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Strategy
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structure, resource allocation, and project scheduling.
- Formulate project strategies, risk management plans, and contingency measures.
- Project Execution and Monitoring
- Coordinate project activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and budget.
- Manage and lead project teams, providing guidance, support, and motivation.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, prepare progress reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish clear project communication channels.
- Facilitate effective communication and manage expectations among team members, contractors, vendors, and clients.
- Resolve conflicts and address issues arising during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure alignment of project objectives with stakeholders' needs and requirements.
- Budgeting and Cost Control
- Develop project budgets, considering resource requirements, procurement, and contingency planning.
- Monitor project expenses, track costs, and implement measures to control and optimize expenditures.
- Review and approve invoices, change orders, and payment requests in accordance with project guidelines.
- Overlook the profitability of Group IPS within the project and organize required scope changes.
- Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance
- Establish quality standards, inspection procedures, and quality control measures.
- Monitor project deliverables to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Implement and enforce safety policies, conduct safety audits, and promote a culture of safety among team members.
Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- • Proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically overseeing large CAPEX industrial projects.
- • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- • Sound knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and industrial standards.
- • Extreme flexibility for travelling within Europe.
- • Ability to manage multiple sub‑projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- • Proficient in project management software and tools.
- • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and permits related to industrial projects.
- • Certification in project management PMP (desirable).
