At Robeauté, we are building the next generation of neurotechnologies — microrobots capable of navigating inside the brain to diagnose, monitor, and treat neurological conditions with unprecedented precision and minimal invasiveness. To bring our breakthrough devices from advanced prototypes to certified medical products, we are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team.
As our Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Design & Development: Work with our mechanical team on designing of specific microrobot components and therapeutic extensions.
- Iterative Engineering: Perform extensive testings and experiments of designs (both digital and physical), including iterative design cycles like prototyping, verification testing and validation to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Simulation & Modeling: Collaborate with our multiphysics simulation team to model and fine tune complex interactions between microrobots and neural tissue, both at the mechanical level and also at the biological level.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with regulatory and clinical teams to ensure designs meet both technical specifications and medical device regulations, especially regarding safety.
Requirements
- Education: Engineering degree from top-tier institutions (ETH, EPFL, Technical University of Munich, Delft University of Technology, ENSAM, Polytechnique, Imperial College, Cambridge, Oxford or equivalent)
- Experience: 5+ years in mechanical engineering for medical devices, with full development cycle experience, in MedTech or watchmaking companies.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong theoretical physics foundation
- Advanced 3D modeling capabilities [SolidWorks, Onshape]
- Experience with multiphysics simulations and environmental interaction modeling
- Proficiency in testing methodologies and validation protocols
- Medical Device Background: Healthcare experience with surgical robotics, catheters, stents, or implants
- Communication: Excellent English proficiency, strong teamwork abilities, and disciplined yet creative approach to problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of predictive AI applications in mechanical engineering
- Experience with inflatable catheters and nitinol-based stents
- Familiarity with embedded sensors and microelectronics
- Experience with automating test benches using code
- Experience in highly regulated medical device environments (ISO 13485, FDA, CE marking)
- Groundbreaking Innovation: Work on world-first microrobots that can navigate the brain for diagnosis and treatment with minimal invasiveness
- Exceptional Team: Collaborate with leading engineers, clinicians, and researchers pushing the boundaries of medical robotics
- Growth Opportunity: Join a well-funded deeptech startup backed by top-tier investors, with real ownership of your technical domain
- Impact & Leadership: Lead critical scale-up operations and contribute to strategic decisions that will define a new category of medical devices and therapies
