Today, DCS, Entrust's Fintech branch specializing in digital payment solutions, is looking for new talent.

Today, we offer innovative digital payment solutions to customers in the banking and associated sectors.

More precisely we provide our own secure wallet to digitize/tokenize cards and make NFC payments on Android and Apple, but we can also push cards into the wallets of major players such as Apple, Google and Samsung.

Our products are based on a REST backend architecture that communicates with SDKs embedded in mobile applications.

The R&D team behind theses products is made up of around 25 people, divided into different squads: Backend, DevOps, Mobile and QA.

Your position will expand the backend team, currently made up of 6 people, which aims to grow to 6 in the coming months.

We are looking for well experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our Paris team!

Your Mission

The Senior Java Backend Engineer will take an active role in the design and development of Digital Card Services for Entrust Instant Financial Issuance solution.

The solutions are built using Java and a modern Web technology stack that employs the latest industry required security standards. The qualified candidate will work with minimal supervision and utilize knowledge, experience and judgment to accomplish goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, deploy, debug, and implement Java/Spring Boot software applications and services.
• Effectively apply Agile (Scrum) methodology to track progress and enforce project standards.
• Knowledgeable about secure development life cycle, threat modeling, and web application security assessments.
• Participate in requirements definition, documentation, and code reviews.
• Contribute to the estimation of work for the team by defining task breakdown, project duration and concurrent effort.
• Assist in production escalation and problem resolution.
• Review and unit test code from others on team.
• Develop and maintain automation and CI/CD environments.
• Function independently with project assignments and with minimal supervision.
• Exhibit a process‑oriented mindset.
• Confidently interact and share skills with team members.
• Identify opportunities to drive innovation, accelerate product launches, and remove bottlenecks to deliver results.

Basic Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent degree in a technology discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience with JAVA backend developments.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience with Junit code testing.
• Experience with agile methodologies, and tools.
• Understand the concepts of business objects, layered design, data access objects, and design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases, and SQL languages.
• Minimum of 3+ Experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
• Experience with SaaS development and deployment.
• Autonomous but real team player, not afraid of challenges.
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
• Contribute to the estimation of work by defining task breakdown, project duration, and concurrent effort.
• Assist in production escalation and problem resolution.
• Identify opportunities to drive innovation, accelerate product launches, and remove bottlenecks to deliver results.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Master's degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience with JAVA backend developments.
• Experience in SDLC environment.
• Experience with SaaS development and deployment.
• Experience in AWS environment.
• Experience developing a commercial/external software product.
• Experience in multi‑threaded and distributed platform.
• Elasticsearch experience.
