We are currently looking for a Senior Category Manager (x|f|m) in the Supply Chain Management BPS (Bio Process Solutions) division, based in Göttingen (Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH). In this role, you will evaluate and improve procurement activities by analyzing company spend, supplier partnerships, and new opportunities. You will develop our supplier base and manage the performance of assigned suppliers throughout their lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities

• Create and implement category strategies with a 2-5 year vision, aligned with business objectives and supplier technology roadmaps.
• Oversee and optimize the existing supply base, leading contract and price negotiations.
• Drive product cost-out projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring timely delivery of results.
• Manage contract development, maintenance, and execution within your scope.
• Evaluate and manage supplier performance, fostering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Stay informed of industry trends, providing strategic insights and proactive actions.
• Analyze cost trends, develop forecasts, and translate insights into actionable strategies.

What Will Convince Us

• Academic degree in Business Administration or relevant field.
• Several years of relevant experience, including strategic categories.
• APICS certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to identify strategic procurement implications and opportunities.
• Proven proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in German and French is desirable.
