Une société de développement durable recherche un Carbon Impact Officer basé à Paris pour soutenir des projets internationaux sur l'agriculture durable et la restauration des écosystèmes. Le candidat idéal a plus de 5 ans d'expérience en évaluation de l'impact carbone et en gestion de projets, avec une connaissance approfondie des standards de certification. Un excellent niveau d'anglais est requis, et la maîtrise du français ainsi que de l'espagnol ou du portugais est un plus. Poste stable proposant une politique de travail flexible.

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Carbon Impact Officer based in Paris with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience. Reporting to the Head of Carbon, you will support Project Managers globally in designing and implementing high-quality projects that promote sustainable farming, engage local communities, and restore ecosystems. This role is key in ensuring the credibility of impact reporting and requires a highly-collaborative mindset to engage both internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supporting Junior Carbon Impact Officer and PM in areas where you have a well-defined and proven key strategic expertise, under the supervision of the Head of Carbon.
  • Carbon impact modelling: assessment of GHG reduction and carbon sequestration enhancement to inform investment strategy.
  • Carbon offset certification: ensure all carbon projects meet certification prerequisites, including listing, registration, PDD drafting, monitoring, and managing auditor visits.
  • Coaching Project Managers and implementing partners: provide guidance on carbon processes to meet carbon goals.
  • Innovation & market intelligence: stay updated on voluntary carbon market trends and adopt new technologies and methodologies.
  • Stakeholder relationship management: manage relationships with key stakeholders (offset standards, carbon consultants, NGOs) to foster strong partnerships.
  • Continuous improvement: propose solutions to improve internal processes and organizational performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: relevant degree (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability, Forestry).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in carbon impact assessment, project management, or sustainability, with hands‑on experience in carbon offset certification.
  • Technical background: experience in remote‑sensing and GIS tools is a strong plus. Expertise in forestry, agroforestry, and managing carbon offset projects from nature‑based solutions is a must.
  • Carbon standards knowledge: familiarity with Verra, GS, Plan Vivo, and related methodologies.
  • Languages: fluent in English; French and Spanish or Portuguese are a strong plus.
KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
  • GHG modelling (Tier 1/2/3, IPCC, empirical/process‑based/plant‑soil models).
  • Climate corporate accounting and target setting (GHG Protocol, SBTi).
  • Certification of impact in other SDGs within VCM projects.
  • Stakeholder consultation, safeguards assessments in the context of VCM projects.
  • Ad‑hoc dMRV tool development (no‑code, Python, etc.).
  • In‑depth understanding of certification processes and compliance with standards (e.g., ICVCM, Verra, GS4GG).
  • Problem‑solving & operational efficiency: navigate challenges, refine workflows, ensure smooth execution of carbon projects.
  • Adaptability & team collaboration: thrive in dynamic, multicultural teams and adapt to changing environments.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management: build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders for operational success.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Permanent position based in Paris or nearby.
  • Flexible work‑from‑home policy.
  • Travel expected 3‑4 times a year.
