Description du poste
About Quartz Design System

Quartz is Schneider Electric’s design system, built to guarantee consistency, quality, and scalability across hundreds of digital products while accelerating product teams’ delivery. The design system is organised into complementary teams: Quartz Core defines and maintains the foundations (tokens, components, governance, tooling), Quartz Website focuses on web-specific implementation and adoption at scale, and Quartz App adapts and extends the system for mobile and software applications.

Context

As the platform matures, the Quartz App team is growing to take on more ambitious challenges beyond Core components. The next phase focuses on domain-aware patterns and end-to-end flows tailored to technical software used in energy management and industrial automation, where density, criticality, and expert users are key constraints. This means developing and systemising advanced interactions such as monitoring dashboards, configuration flows, alarms, controls, and decision‑support experiences.

About the Quartz App team

As a member of the Quartz App team, your mission is to ensure that the design system works just as well in applications as it does on the web, translating shared foundations into app‑ready components, patterns, and guidelines. You work closely with Quartz Core to reuse and influence the foundations, and with product app teams to capture real constraints, validate solutions, and drive adoption. The team operates as a product team: clear outcomes, a roadmap aligned with platform OKRs, and tight collaboration with design, engineering, accessibility, and brand stakeholders.

What will be your role ?

As a Product Designer in the Design System Application Team, you will be responsible for designing and documenting complex application‑specific UX and UI patterns and components that build upon Schneider Electric’s Core Design System. Your role is to ensure that enterprise applications deliver a consistent, accessible, and user‑centered experience by aligning with core design principles while addressing real‑world functional needs. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other designers to ensure seamless integration, usability, and scalability of the system across teams and platforms.

You will be responsible for :
  • Application‑Specific Patterns & Components Design
    • Design and document UX and UI patterns that support complex workflows and business requirements in enterprise applications.
    • Extend core components by creating context‑specific variations that maintain consistency while meeting application needs.
    • Ensure designs meet accessibility (WCAG), responsiveness, and usability standards.
    • Collaborate actively with the Core Quartz Design system team to ensure all production is compliant with core principles and best practices
  • User Centricity and Scalability Focus:
    • Translate complex user journeys into clear, usable, and scalable interface solutions.
    • Incorporate feedback use from our product teams to refine and evolve components and patterns.
    • Understand and assess the systemic impact of components and patterns impacting hundreds of products.
  • Implementation Documentation:
    • Producing detailed design specifications to guide component development, including accessibility, interaction, and visual guidelines.
    • Work closely with developers to ensure design feasibility, quality, and consistency.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Engaging the design system community, evangelizing your mission, and fostering trust with product teams and stakeholders.
    • Supporting and onboarding teams in using the design system.
  • Alignment and Contribution:
    • Ensure that application patterns remain aligned with the Core Design System in structure, logic, and visual style.
    • Collaborate with the Core Design System Team to suggest improvements or new patterns based on application needs.
This job has been tailored for you if you :
  • have 4+ years of experience in product or UX/UI design, ideally with enterprise applications or design systems.
  • have a strong portfolio demonstrating complex UI solutions, interaction design, and design system contributions.
  • are proficient in Figma and design system tools (e.g., ZeroHeight, Storybook, Tokens Studio).
  • possess a solid understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and UX best practices across multiple platforms (desktop, mobile, tablet, HMI).
  • have a strong passion for simplicity and pixel‑perfect interfaces.
  • possess a keen graphic sensibility and knowledge of brand design.
  • excel in communication and thrive in collaborative environments.
  • think systemically and understand technical issues and dependencies.
  • are organized, curious, and creative, with experience in Lean and Agile methodologies.
  • are familiar with an international environment and fluent in English.
Even Better:
  • You have experience in data visualization.
  • You possess motion design and animation skills.
