Position Overview

We are seeking a Microsoft Power BI Administrator & Developer to design, develop, and manage enterprise business intelligence solutions, creating interactive dashboards and reports while ensuring data governance, security, and optimal performance across our Power BI environment.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development

Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI Desktop

Create data models, relationships, and DAX calculations for complex business requirements

Build paginated reports and mobile-optimized dashboards for various stakeholder needs

Develop real-time streaming dashboards and automated refresh schedules

Implement advanced analytics including forecasting, clustering, and statistical analysis

Power BI Administration

Manage Power BI Service tenant settings, workspaces, and user access controls

Configure data gateways for on-premises and cloud data source connectivity

Implement row-level security, sensitivity labels, and data protection policies

Monitor usage analytics, capacity metrics, and performance optimization

Manage Premium workspace allocation and Power BI Embedded configurations

Data Integration & Modeling

Connect to various data sources including SQL Server, Azure, SharePoint, and web APIs

Design and implement data transformation processes using Power Query M language

Create reusable datasets and establish data refresh strategies

Optimize data models for performance and implement incremental data refresh

Collaborate with data engineers on data warehouse and lake integrations

Governance & Training

Establish Power BI governance frameworks, best practices, and development standards

Create user documentation, training materials, and self-service analytics guidelines

Conduct training sessions on Power BI Desktop, Service, and mobile applications

Implement content certification processes and promote data literacy initiatives

Monitor compliance with organizational data policies and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

6+ years experience developing and administering Power BI solutions

Expert knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Service, and mobile applications

Proficiency in DAX, Power Query M, and advanced data modeling techniques

Strong SQL skills and experience with various database platforms

Knowledge of Azure services, data warehousing, and ETL processes

Understanding of data visualization best practices and UX design principles

Analytical Skills

Strong business acumen with ability to translate requirements into technical solutions

Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics

Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and data quality principles

Understanding of performance optimization and capacity planning

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field

Microsoft certifications (Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate)

Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, SSRS) and migration strategies

Knowledge of Python, R, or other analytical programming languages

Background in data architecture and modern data platform technologies
