Materials Buyer – Contract – Toulouse – Life Sciences

Our client, a global biotechnology organisation, is recruiting for a Materials Buyer to join their capital project in the South of France. This new build facility will house a therapeutic protein production plant, and we are looking for a Materials Buyer to help expand our client's biotech operations throughout Europe.

Responsibilities

1. Buy for critical suppliers for single-use technologies, drug substance, drug product, and packaging.
2. Assist in designing and enhancing company-wide procurement policies and procedures to facilitate efficient activities and systems. Collaborate on creating delivery plans and drive change adoption for process and system improvements.
3. Support procurement specialists in strategic sourcing initiatives related to indirect procurement, including category analysis, supplier contract structures, and policy development for supplier evaluation, selection, and management. Assist in negotiating favorable terms and service level agreements with stakeholders and legal teams.
4. Develop and communicate procurement-related spend analytics and data reporting for business units. Support vendor management and negotiation activities.
5. Collaborate with key procurement stakeholders beyond the user community, such as financial planning, accounts payable, corporate accounting, IT, and legal departments.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Minimum 2-7 years of experience in a purchasing role.
2. Background in Pharma, Biotech, or Life Sciences is a plus.
