Recruitment is part of the CORESME research project, which focuses on the study of original periplasmic proteins involved in copper resistance in environmental or pathogenic bacteria.
The chosen candidate will develop biological and spectroscopic (electron paramagnetic resonance, UV-visible, CD, etc.) approaches to produce and purify proteins of interest, characterize copper binding sites, and study protein-protein interactions and electron transfers.

Integration into the team Biophysics of Metalloproteins and Dynamic Systems (https://bip.cnrs.fr/groups/bip07/ , PI: Pierre Dorlet) within the Laboratory of Bioenergetics and Protein Engineering in Marseille on the CNRS Joseph Aiguier campus. Full time position in accordance with the internal regulations of the unit and the laboratories involved in the collaboration. Computer workstation equipped with the necessary software. Wet bench and laboratory equipment for protein production/purification and biological sample preparation. UV-visible spectrometers, CD, etc. EPR platform specialized in life sciences.
Knowledge: knowledge of copper proteins, biophysical methods applied to proteins. Knowledge of biology. Proficiency in scientific English. Skills: experimental work on biological samples; recording spectra (UV-visible, fluorescence, EPR, etc.); data analysis. Interpersonal skills: ability to work/communicate in a multidisciplinary environment (physics, chemistry, biology), teamwork.
