A leading space agency is hiring an Industrial Policy Engineer for a 2-year fixed-term appointment at their Paris headquarters. You will work closely with various teams to foster dialogue between ESA and European industry, contribute to industrial-policy tasks, and analyze capabilities of Member States. This position requires a master's degree and a solid understanding of the space industry ecosystem. The role also involves excellent communication skills and some knowledge of tools like Power BI or Power Apps.
This is a fixed‑term appointment with an initial duration of 2 years.

Industrial Policy Engineer in the Industrial Policy Section within the Industrial Policy and Space Economy Division of the Industrial Policy and Auditing Department.
As part of this role you will foster dialogue with industry in ESA Member States to systematically build up ESA’s knowledge of European industry and of the accessible global markets. You will deliver industrial‑policy products and services to Member States delegations, industry, ESA programme directorates and high‑level management.
You will work in close cooperation with the Space Economy Team in the Division, the Industrial Return and Analytics Office, the SME Office, and the Capability and Country Support Division. You will also cooperate with programme directorates including the Directorate of Technology Engineering and Quality.

A master’s degree in a relevant domain is required for this post.

In principle recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2‑A4). However if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience after completing the master’s degree the position may be filled at A1 level.
Applicants must be eligible to access information technology and hardware subject to European or U.S. export‑control and sanctions regulations.
During the recruitment process the Agency may request applicants to undergo selection tests. Successful candidates will also need to undergo basic screening before appointment, conducted by an external background‑screening service in compliance with the Agency’s security procedures.
Note that ESA is in the process of transitioning to a matrix setup, which could lead to organisational changes affecting this position.
