Description du poste
Job Description

A vacancy for a Human Factors Specialist M/F on Cockpit Human Factors & Cockpit Design Department in Engineering, arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane (France).

You will join a transnational team of around 50 people based in France & Germany within the ETYAH department in charge of Human Factors and Cockpit Design activities for all civil and military helicopters developed by Airbus Helicopters.

At Airbus Helicopters, most of the jobs that contribute to the design of the helicopters’ cockpits – both military and civilian – are in this department, from understanding the operational concept to the physical design of the crew interfaces and from characterizing Human Factors aspects of the cockpit usage to modelling flight‑crew displays.

Your challenges

We can split the overall department activities into four main axes:

  • Understand the environment of the helicopter and its operational use by pilots (customers).
  • Understand how the human brain works (cognitive functions) and its limits when operating a helicopter from the cockpit.
  • Define and design an optimal cockpit layout according to, among others, the previous axes.
  • Break down the above axes into functional specifications (alerting function, flight monitoring, etc.).
Your working environment

Marignane is a dynamic city in the southeast of France, near Marseille‑Provence Airport and adjacent to Aix‑en‑Provence and Marseille, offering cultural, tourist and water‑sport options.

How we care for you
  • Financial rewards: Attractive salary, success and profit‑sharing schemes, employee savings plan and voluntary employee stock purchase plan.
  • Work/life balance: Extra days‑off for special occasions, holiday transfer option and staff council with social, cultural and sporting activities.
  • Well‑being/health: Complementary health insurance coverage (disability, invalidity, death) and on‑site services such as health centre, concierge, gym and car‑pooling app.
  • Individual development: Upskilling opportunities, access to over 10,000 e‑learning courses, certifications, expert career path, accelerated development programmes, national and international mobility.

We support flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking where possible.

About the role

We are looking for someone to work on the next avionics suite and in particular the study of a new concept of Alerting Management.

Some business trips are expected (approximately three times a year) within France and Europe, and the candidate must be willing to travel.

Your profile
  • Master‑level degree (or equivalent) in Human Factors/Ergonomics or an engineering school with an HFE background.
  • Experience in Human Factors or cockpit design in aeronautics.
  • Transnational experience (Germany) is a plus.
  • Soft skills: teamwork, agility, strong communication and presentation, synthesis and escalation abilities.
  • Languages: French (negotiation level), English (negotiation level), German notions welcome but not mandatory.
