Missions
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead sourcing activities across BGs and plants, understanding the various leverages at disposal to improve performance and drive synergies;
- Lead Electricity & Gas hedging process (Proposals, Approvals, Implementation)
- Contribute to Purchasing performance for the Energy Domain either by acting directly or by influencing / managing actors in all Regions and in all OPmobility entities
- Cost Optimization: Identify and execute cost‑saving opportunities across various indirect spend categories.
- Lead “Cash is King” initiatives for the scope.
- Push energy Consumption reductions initiatives
- Develop energy storage projects
- Develop the Electricity & Gas budget in close cooperation with the Business Groups. Communicate.
- Continue digitalization of the Domain (ex: PBI)
Activities
- Contribute to development and adaptation of Electricity and Gas categories strategies per country (in close alignment with Global Domain Clusters Managers & Buyers)
- Spend analysis
- Supply market analysis and daily follow‑up of energy prices (Market‑update)
- Identification of sourcing levers
- Contract management
- Optimize and agree on specifications
- Issue Requests for Information (RfI) and Request for Quotation (RfQ)
- Prepare sourcing decisions (Pre‑RfQ and Sourcing Committee)
- Negotiate and finalize contracts
- Contribute to identification and implementation of cost & CO2 savings initiatives for the Domain
- Initiate cross‑BG cost and CO2 savings initiatives and workshops
- Drive the implementation from idea status to realized status
- Supplier & Consultants Relationship Management with top suppliers of the Domain
- Regular performance evaluation and reviews with top suppliers of the Domain
- Lead escalation process in case of supply problems, project delays etc.
- Identify, propose and implement cost savings
- Plan savings initiatives in the savings tracking tool
- Contribute and Support Global Domain Decarbonisation roadmap, when required.
- Special focus on PPAs integration into Electricity Supply Contracts
- Plan, structure and execute cross‑BG sourcings in close collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Collect and analyze data
Qualifications
- Master’s degree
(Technical + Business Education preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic purchasing or a similar role, in an International & multicultural environment
- Ideally, first experience in either procurement or sales of energy products
- Category Management: ability to design and deploy powerful category strategies for Electricity and Gas, in line with Group strategic objectives
- Contract Negotiations: abilities to lead complex contract negotiations and manage supplier’s relationship
- Marketwatch: ability to assess the implications of regulatory requirements (legal, accounting and tax related matters)
- Understanding of energy products and markets including energy contracting & hedging, various types of Power Purchase Agreements
- Decarbonisation: understanding of energies’ decarbonization, via Power Purchase Agreements, Energy Attribute Certificates mechanisms and Voluntary Carbon Offsets
- Data Analysis: proficiency in analyzing procurement data to make informed decisions, predict future demand, and identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Knowledge of financial mechanisms (P&L, budgeting process, etc.). Ability to analyze financial data, perform cost analysis and make recommendations for decision‑making
- Relationship Management: excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Clear and effective communication to manage regular reviews with purchasing executives
- Strong Leadership skills
- Ability to work within a multicultural environment
