A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking a Geospatial Data Scientist in Paris. You will enhance data services by scaling algorithms, monitoring data acquisition, and developing consulting tools. Candidates should hold a Master's in Data Science or similar, with strong skills in Python and AWS, and an interest in climate issues. This role offers a chance to work at the intersection of data science and environmental sustainability.

Recently Altitude has enhanced its activities with consulting dedicated to Financial customers. To foster and leverage this new line of business, Altitude is looking for a Geospatial Data Scientist.

The Data Team of Altitude is in charge of the whole chain of production of climate data services from developping state-of-the-art climate models and algorithms to putting in production scalable API to request this data.
Under the supervision of the Head of Data, you will deliver high-quality technical solutions :
Scale the algorithms developed by the climatologists and data scientists of the team.
Ensure the monitoring and the execution of the data acquisition pipelines.
Develop the relevant tools to support the consulting activities to Financial customers.
Innovate in terms of the data & analysis for the consulting business : value proposition & business development.
Education:
Grandes Écoles d’ingénieurs (X, CentraleSupélec, École des Ponts, Mines, ENTPE, ENSTA, ENSAE…)
MSc in top French, European or International Universities (Paris-Saclay, Dauphine, Imperial College, ETH Zurich, EPF Lausanne…)
Major in Data Science or Computer Science
Background
Previous experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer with proven track record putting tools in production.
Previous experience with AWS Cloud engineering.
Previous experience in geospatial &/or climate related field.
Skills:
Strong skills in Data Science/Statistics as well as in Computer Science.
Strong skills in Python – familiar with geospatial data manipulation (geopandas, rasterio, etc).
Knowledge of GDAL
Pragmatic, Business & Solution-oriented.
Ability to work with various scientists and experts on various natural or physical subjects.
Demonstrated interests in climate and environmental issues
