The Caen Corpuscular Physics Laboratory, a joint research unit (CNRS-Université de Caen-Ensicaen) specialises in subatomic physics. The LPC comprises 7 research groups and 5 technical departments. Its Applications Médicales et Industrielles (AMI) team recently became involved in the ‘Normandie accélérateur’ project. The aim of which is to offer a set of irradiation platforms for testing the radiation resistance of on-board electronic systems for aerospace manufacturers. This project will use the heavy ion beams delivered by the GANIL accelerators (Caen) as well as the electron beam delivered by ATRON (Cherbourg).
In this project, the AMI team is responsible for developing systems for measuring and controlling the dose delivered during these irradiations (detectors, reading electronics and associated acquisition systems). It is within this framework that the researcher will work in collaboration with his/her colleagues to meet the requirements of this project.
In this project, the physicist we are looking for will be responsible for developing the detection systems, including analysing the tests carried out on the various experimental sites. He/she will be part of the AMI team and will coordinate developments in conjunction with the laboratory's various technical departments. He/she should have solid expertise in the field of charged particle irradiation techniques and ion beam metrology. Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation techniques would be a plus.
Contract: from February/March 2026 to May 31st 2028.
