Director, International Benefits

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, International Benefits in France.

In this strategic leadership role, you will design, implement, and manage global employee benefits programs across multiple international markets. You will lead a distributed team of regional benefits experts, ensuring compliance, competitiveness, and scalability in every country. Acting as both a strategist and operator, you will develop partnerships with global brokers and vendors, launch innovative benefits offerings, and integrate these programs into global operations. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver differentiated experiences for employees and clients. This role requires balancing global standardization with local relevance while leveraging data, insights, and automation to drive efficiency. You will thrive in a fast-moving, complex environment where your decisions have a direct impact on global business growth and employee satisfaction.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute a multi-country benefits strategy aligned with international growth objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing global benefits team, defining clear ownership, standards, and KPIs.
  • Build and manage global broker and carrier relationships, negotiating coverage, pricing, and service levels.
  • Identify, evaluate, and launch innovative benefits programs tailored to regional needs, including wellness, family support, and mental health offerings.
  • Oversee benefits renewals, ensuring process consistency, data integrity, and compliance across all markets.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Payroll, Legal, HRIS, Product, and Customer Success teams to integrate benefits into operations and the customer experience.
  • Monitor and analyze benefits cost, utilization, and satisfaction to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Ensure statutory compliance in all countries, maintaining documentation and governance standards.
Requirements
  • 810+ years of experience building and managing complex global programs, products, or business functions, with at least 3+ years in global benefits, global insurance, or Employer of Record operations.
  • Proven ability to build and scale programs from the ground up, operating autonomously in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong commercial and operational instincts with experience designing scalable systems and managing vendor/partner relationships.
  • Negotiation expertise and experience managing global RFPs and renewals.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse cultures and seniority levels.
  • Analytical fluency in benefits cost modeling, vendor performance metrics, and ROI analysis.
  • Demonstrated success leading distributed teams and scaling processes internationally.
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments and leveraging AI or automation to improve processes.
  • Multilingual proficiency and/or international business experience is a plus.
