Master Data Officer (H / F / NB)

What we offer

The Master Data Officer is a pivotal figure in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of the Groups master data (such as Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, etc.). This role manages the creation, maintenance and governance of master data across all business units and oversees roles and authorizations to ensure alignment with corporate policies and compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Master Data Governance: develop and implement strategies for master data management, including defining data standards and overseeing data governance policies.
  • Own the creation and ongoing maintenance of centrally controlled master data entities (e.g. Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers).
  • Design, update and manage forms for master data management via internal service platforms (e.g. creation and change request forms).
  • Create, maintain and regularly review business process guides, glossaries and supporting documentation to ensure consistent group‑wide data standards.
  • Roles & Authorizations Management: review and validate requests for creation or modification of system roles ensuring alignment with the core model and authorization matrices.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive segregation of duties (SoD) matrix for all system roles and periodically review to identify and mitigate conflicts or risks.
  • Conduct regular compliance checks and risk assessments on roles and authorizations, proposing and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Support: serve as the central point of contact for all matters related to master data and roles/authorizations management at the corporate level.
  • Liaise with business units, IT and compliance teams to ensure master data and authorization structures support business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance on master data procedures and roles/authorizations best practices.
  • Process Excellence & Data Quality: ensure data quality process controls and reporting are maintained at high standards across all master data items.
  • Rationalize and standardize reports, dashboards and KPIs to facilitate decision‑making and compliance.
  • Oversee the use of master data depositories for analysis and reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: monitor KPIs and internal controls to ensure quality, mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and proactively adapt data management practices to evolving business needs.
  • Support process deep‑dives, workshops and harmonization roadmaps for finance transformation projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in master data management, data governance or roles and authorizations management within a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of ERP or master data management systems and principles of role‑based access control.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain process documentation, guides and compliance matrices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
