Responsabilités

  • Own the CI/CD process for delivering reliable, production-grade ClickHouse releases.
  • Work on CI/CD and automation code in ClickHouse fork.
  • Maintain and improve GitHub self-hosted runners and infrastructure.
  • Build, sign, and publish .deb, .rpm, and Docker images.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams for high-quality builds.
  • Investigate and resolve CI/CD failures and build regressions.
  • Design automation for reliable and repeatable workflows.
  • Proactively monitor infrastructure for 24/7 availability.

ClickHouse now has 41.8k stars on GitHub and more contributors than ElasticSearch, previously the biggest open-source analytic project on GitHub.

Altinity is a distributed company that values employees, open source, and doing the right things for customers. We are seeking a hands-on Build DevOps Engineer to support our ClickHouse build pipeline, and to help us build cutting-edge database releases for cloud and on-prem operation. This is a programming-intensive DevOps role, with a strong emphasis on scripting, automation, and infrastructure reliability. You’ll work directly on CI/CD infrastructure that powers our Altinity Stable Builds—a curated release stream of ClickHouse optimized for production use—and contribute to both Altinity’s ClickHouse fork and the official ClickHouse upstream repository.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Own the CI/CD process for Altinity Stable Builds, delivering reliable, production-grade ClickHouse releases
  • Work on CI/CD and automation code in Altinity’s ClickHouse fork and upstream ClickHouse
  • Maintain and improve GitHub self-hosted runners and supporting infrastructure
  • Build, sign, and publish .deb, .rpm, and Docker images to internal and public registries
  • Collaborate with ClickHouse development and QA teams to ship high-quality builds and features
  • Investigate and resolve CI/CD failures, flaky tests, and build regressions
  • Design automation to make release workflows more reliable, repeatable, and self-healing
  • Proactively monitor infrastructure and pipelines to ensure 24/7 availability
Desired Skills & Experiences:
  • Excellent Python programming, Bash scripting, and Linux system administration skills
  • Deep familiarity with git and modern build systems like CMake and Ninja
  • Strong experience building and debugging CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions
  • Hands-on expertise in creating and publishing .deb, .rpm, and Docker images
  • Solid understanding of containers and virtualization technologies
  • Ability to methodically debug complex infrastructure problems and eliminate root causes
  • Strong documentation and communication habits
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in open-source and globally distributed environments
Having one or more of the following is a big plus:
  • Experience with ClickHouse
  • Experience with C++
  • Experience with open-source projects
