A global automation solutions provider is seeking an Automation 4.0 Project Manager in Octeville-sur-Mer. You will manage the development of automation solutions and design architectures for future projects. Ideal candidates have a Master’s in Automation or related fields, 3-5 years of automation engineering experience, and strong PLC programming skills. Your Opportunity

What if you could contribute to the creation of the automation platform development of Sidel future equipment? Join the international team in Octeville or Reichstett inside the Automation 4.0 team, interacting with Automation colleagues in order to help to the evolution and standardization of the automation processes! Sidel is looking for an Automation 4.0 Project Manager to work on Transversal Projects.

Your Mission

• Provide the requirement technology fundament to secure Automation 4.0 introduction at the company ambition expectation mastering Automation 4.0 guidelines
• Design the optimized Automation 4.0 Architecture for all SIDEL equipment
• Development and maintenance of the A4.0 PLC software
• Software development support on:
  • New development architecture
  • Equipment
  • Test bench
• Manage the development of automation solutions (PLC, Motion, …) until field test and customer support when requested.
• Create Guidelines & Rules in software development
• Understanding of electrical design, and HMI design
• Prepare all software technical documents linked to the architecture or the projects
• Test all the automation software following the methodology defined.

Your Profile

We are looking for a professional with a Master’s degree in Automation, IT, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and 3 to 5 years of experience in automation engineering.

You are fluent in both French and English; knowledge of Italian is a plus. You have solid skills in PLC programming (TIA Portal, B&R Automation Studio, Rockwell Studio 5000) and are comfortable reading and analyzing electrical schematics. Experience with motion systems, mechatronic principles, and tools like TIA Portal or Automation Studio will be highly valued.

Knowledge of safety systems, industrial networking, cybersecurity, GitHub, and simulation tools is a strong advantage. Familiarity with Lean methodology is also appreciated.

You’re proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and SAP, and you bring a proactive, organized, and solution-oriented mindset. You work independently, manage projects effectively, and are ready to travel up to 10% of the time.
