Job Description

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is an open-world action-adventure game set in a captivating space opera universe. It is also the direct prequel to the 2003 classic! Thanks to the technological advances brought about by our proprietary Voyager engine, Beyond Good & Evil 2 aims to offer an organic and seamless experience of exploration and space piracy on a solar system scale, featuring exotic locations, colorful characters, and many mysteries to discover solo or with friends. Why we need you:

You will be responsible for project management on a strategic scope, directly supervising 2 to 4 people and overseeing 10 to 20 employees (Level Designers, Art teams, Technical Directors, Gameplay Programmers). Your role will be to ensure coordination, quality, and adherence to deadlines within your scope.

Tasks:

1. Leading meetings:

  • Preparing/facilitating/leading meetings (project routines, multi-team kick-offs, workshops, validation meetings, etc.)
  • Writing meeting minutes with validations and prioritized next steps

2. Team management and mindset:

  • Monitoring workload and adjusting task distribution to avoid availability conflicts.
  • Resolving simple conflicts and escalating complex situations with analysis.
  • Developing documented solution proposals and testing the simplest ones (if applicable) for each problem encountered before escalating it
  • Promote fluid communication between teams using appropriate formats (meetings, messages, flash updates).

3. Budget and resource management:

  • Assess resource gaps and propose corrective actions (adjustment of deadlines, quality, or resources).
  • Contribute to budget monitoring by anticipating expenses and alerting to discrepancies.

4. Project management:

  • Taking into account Playtests feedback + connecting topics in JIRA
  • Validation: Organizing validation sequences for the most complex developments
  • Prioritizing in line with my team and related teams
  • Proactively prepare milestones for a specific scope based on the project status and in line with the project's macro objectives
  • Simple planning - create a roadmap + regular monitoring and adjustments with justification and effective adaptation
  • Encourage developers to always prioritize developments based on priorities and available time.
  • Reporting: Select, adapt, and communicate only key information to meet the needs of a target audience, such as management or other teams.

5. Quality and documentation:

  • Support content creators in formalizing their ideas in the form of clear, shareable documentation.

6. Technical expertise in project management:

  • Be a solid link in version and branching management to reduce delivery risks.
  • Master the differences between approaches (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and know how to adapt by combining tools as needed according to objectives and the stage of the project (design, pre-production, demo, etc.), while supporting the team in their adoption.
Qualifications

Technical skills :

  • Very good knowledge of project management methods and tools (Agile, Scrum, Jira, Confluence, Perforce, etc.)

Must have :

  • Basic reading of languages (Java, C++, C#) appreciated.
  • Knowledge of video game development professions and processes
  • Knowledge of artistic and design production pipelines.

  • Problem Solver: to come up with concrete and creative solutions to obstacles
  • Autonomy and initiative: to anticipate problems, test simple solutions, and move things forward without waiting for instructions.
  • Clear communication: to lead multi-team meetings, write reports, and maintain coordination between teams.
  • Organization and rigor: to plan roadmaps, manage priorities, and ensure consistency of deliverables in a demanding environment.
  • Collaborative leadership: to supervise and unite diverse teams, resolve simple conflicts, and establish a solution-oriented mindset.

Languages :

  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Understanding of French (minimum).

The recruitment process:

Our recruitment process

  • Review of your application: our team will carefully review your application.

  • Interview 1: Discovery (1 hour, via video conference): a discussion with a member of the recruitment team to get to know you better and check that your background matches our expectations.
  • Interview 2: Technical (1 hour, via video conference): a more technical discussion with two members of the team to get down to specifics and speak the same language.
  • Technical test: (2 days): Following the second interview, you will receive a practical case study on a fictional project to assess your skills. This test will be followed by a discussion with the producer to debrief the test.

Upon your arrival, you will benefit from a structured integration process with training to quickly immerse yourself in the project.
