Job Description

Microchip Technology Inc. is looking for a new college graduate to work in a team that will be responsible for Design Implementation (Synthesis / STA / Timing closure) of 32-bit controllers. The role will include driving and optimizing synthesis, power optimization, static timing analysis and design verification using an industry leading design flow. It will require a candidate with the ability to work in cross-functional and cross-site team environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Candidate will execute Synthesis, Power Optimization, Signal Integrity, Formal Equivalency and Static Timing tools and flows for Microchip’s 32-bit micro‑controllers
• Drive SoC timing budgeting, constraint analysis, optimization and sign‑off timing closure
• Work alongside architecture, design and verification teams to support constraint development and timing debug of gate‑level simulations
• Participate in new tool evaluation and flow developments
• Participate in SoC development planning and scheduling
• Continuously improve RTL‑to‑Netlist tool flows and methodologies

Requirements / Qualifications

• Master Degree
• Good exposure to STA, synthesis and functional verification tools. Ability to implement power constraints using UPF / CPF constructs is a plus.
• Good scripting skills (TCL / Perl / Python)
• Familiarity with RTL2GDS design concepts / flow
• Ability to interact with other team members to communicate work progress and closure
• Interact with tool vendors and debug tool-related or IP-related issues independently
