Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Foundations team at Factorial.

Our mission is to build the foundational modules, patterns, and tools that enable a consistent, high-quality user experience across the platform.

We work in a highly collaborative environment, focusing on the main building blocks of Factorial, including core abstractions and mobile integration. We also lead projects for key information aggregators like the home and inbox.

As a Senior Engineer at Factorial, you'll be part of a team of over 150 product developers. We seek talented, curious, proactive individuals with excellent communication skills who are passionate about developing tools that help teams excel.

You will work in a multicultural, English-speaking environment, where your technical skills, creative problem-solving, and passion for user-centric products will contribute to our mission of improving HR processes for SMEs worldwide. You can choose to work from home, in our Barcelona offices, or a mix of both.

Our tech stack includes Ruby on Rails for backend, React for frontend, and React Native for mobile development. We are currently hiring Backend, Frontend, and Mobile Engineers, preferably with experience in these technologies.

You will start with a 2-week onboarding, including:

• Reading about Factorial, our products, team, and clients.
• Pairing with team members to understand their work.
• Solving low-stake bugs or quick wins.
• Embracing failure as part of learning in a fast, minimal-configuration environment.
• Integrating into team rituals from day one.

Post-onboarding, your daily work will involve:

• Owning major initiatives and focusing on outcomes.
• Participating in requirement discussions and delivering autonomous, polished solutions.
• Engaging with customers to understand their pain points.
• Reviewing code regularly and providing/receiving feedback.
• Learning from the team and mentoring junior members.
