What you will do: Aistech Space is looking for a Remote Sensing Scientist in charge of developing image processing chains for the VIS, NIR and specially TIR bands for the ENABLER instrument, which is mainly focused on Thermal Infrared Data (TIR) applications.
This new position offers the opportunity to lead the development of the L2 processing chain for the ENABLER TIR bands for the next satellite launches in 2025 and 2026.
In parallel, you will be helping the SW teams on the development of certain internal tools to advance the image processing chain, such as a radiometric product processor or an end-to-end system simulator.
In addition to this, you will be supporting internal projects, ESA/H2020 proposals,
R&D; projects or client projects with your remote sensing expertise, processing VIS, NIR and TIR data from other remote sensing satellites.
It is important to understand that this position requires being in contact with the rest of companies' business areas (ground infrastructure, satellite operations, space infrastructure, management, etc) offering your know-how in identifying, defining and integrating new applications of TIR data within the User Infrastructure Team to help the Business Development team with our clients.
In this role, you are expected to work as a team functioning as an agile, highly collaborative unit focused on short-driven development iterations.
You will also be responsible to follow internal standards and good practices in terms of project management, documentation and time management following an agile approach in your daily work.
The main tasks are focussed on:
Understand Aistech Space's mission objectives.
Work closely with the user and business development team to help explore, define and deliver imaging products and insights to our clients.
Internal technical discussions on how to exploit our TIR imaging data on different market sectors.
Use your know-how in data science, SW engineering and geospatial data analytics to process any imaging products (from Aistech or others) enhancing it with field work data (in situ) or others such as OSINT/IoT/SIGINT automating imaging processes and producing insights to our clients.
Identify TIR applications to use with our ENABLER imaging data.
Collaborate with the SW infrastructure team to implement a radiometric product processor.
Be part of the SW team for the development of a payload end-to-end system simulator.
Create and maintain technical / business documentation to support the sales team.
Recommend adoption of new technologies, products, and services to increase our market impact.
Follow your curiosity to suggest new ideas to make our products and processes better.
