A multinational technology company in Spain seeks a Sr Process Improvement Specialist to optimize inventory transfer flows and support operational excellence. The role involves leveraging analytical skills to interpret data, developing project specifications, and managing relationships with external partners. The ideal candidate has experience in supply chain operations and is fluent in English. This position offers a chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment and support the company's goal of providing the best customer experience.
Network Flow and Technologies (NFT) is a centralized team serving Fulfillment Centers (FC) across Europe, driving the strategic transformation of Amazon's inbound fulfillment network.
We seek end-to-end net benefit by minimizing under-the-roof costs for FCs and maximizing opportunities for FCs to deliver customer orders within 24hrs (1D delivery). We dive deep into metrics to identify and address opportunities within existing systems and processes.
We are process experts leading the transformation from a "push" to "pull" inventory model. We simplify, standardize, and improve processes by using our expertise and strategic position within Amazon Fulfillment to innovate on behalf of the customer, providing standard ways of working and facilitating decision‑making for FCs by delivering best‑in‑class products.
We optimize inventory transfer flows across the multi‑echelon network, managing the complex movement of inventory between upstream Distribution Centers (1DC/RDC), Inbound Cross Docks (IXD), downstream AR/TS Fulfillment Centers, and Nexus nodes. This includes orchestrating daily case‑level replenishment from 1DCs to core FCs and MFCs, weekly replenishment from RDCs for slower‑moving selection, and ensuring efficient connectivity with maximum 50 routes per 1DC while maintaining 10‑hour transit time targets. Our work enables the strategic shift to upstream inventory buffering (37% of network cube) while reducing FC inventory by 30%.
We collaborate with external teams, partnering with senior FC leaders and cross‑functional teams to deliver best‑in‑class products and processes that address improvement opportunities—from overarching planning processes through shift execution—supporting the seamless integration of inventory flows across all network nodes.
At Amazon we believe every day is day one. Our team realizes that vision daily by delivering on the goals above and providing a central location for operational excellence within the Amazon customer fulfillment network. By optimizing inventory transfer flows across our transforming multi‑echelon network—from vendor receipt through 1DCs and RDCs to final customer delivery via ARs and Nexus nodes—we continuously improve the buying experience for our customers and further our ambitious goal of being Earth's most customer‑centric company.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to play a pivotal role in understanding the interconnected nature between all nodes in the European Fulfillment Network and identify opportunities to facilitate informed business decision‑making ensuring end‑to‑end net benefit. As a process improvement specialist within our team, you will serve as a subject matter expert in continuous process improvement and automation, particularly focusing on optimizing inventory transfer flows between AR, IXD, 1DC/RDC, and Nexus nodes. You will manage the complexity of daily case replenishment to downstream nodes, weekly RDC replenishment cycles, cross‑dock operations for tail selection, and the strategic balance between storage efficiency and transfer costs across the network. The successful candidate will be passionate about finding new ways to invent on behalf of our customers while ensuring seamless inventory flow across this multi‑year network transformation.
