A leading mobility technology company based in Valladolid seeks a Senior Powertrain Engineer specializing in heavy-duty and off-road vehicles. This role involves designing mechanical and electrical systems, conducting system simulations, and managing supplier relationships. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 5-10 years of experience in powertrain system development, and a strong knowledge of hybrid powertrain architectures. Proficiency in tools like SIEMENS NX and CATIA is essential. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Senior Powertrain Engineer - Heavy Duty / Off-Road Vehicles

Do you want to be part of a strategic project in the defense sector, working on the development of advanced technological solutions? We are looking for engineers with experience in design, integration, and simulation of complex systems, eager to take on challenges in highly demanding and confidential environments. In this role, you will contribute to conceptual and detailed design, requirements definition, subsystem integration, and functional validation, playing a key role in creating innovative platforms for critical applications.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and development of mechanical and electrical systems, including:
    • Engine and transmission (gearbox).
    • Thermal management and cabin climate control (optimizing engine cooling and cabin comfort).
    • Electric machines and propulsion systems.
    • Vehicle dynamics and steering (control architecture and steering systems).
  • System modeling and simulation to validate performance and optimize functionality.
  • System integration: analyzing the impact of changes on the overall architecture.
  • Technical supplier management: evaluating international components and adapting them to national suppliers.
  • Collaboration on hybridization systems and electronic architecture projects.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Automotive Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in powertrain system development or similar automotive technologies, with focus on electrified powertrains.
  • Deep knowledge of hybrid powertrain architectures, including electric motor and battery integration.
  • Experience in managing engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technical experience in electronic systems architecture, engine calibration, software, and product design.
  • Ability to manage economic aspects (CAPEX, OPEX, PRF evolution).
  • Familiarity with tools such as SIEMENS NX, CATIA, ANSYS MECHANICAL, NASTRAN, FLOTHERM, FLO EFD, ESATAN, CRUISE M, EXCITE M.
  • Previous experience in defense will be valued.
  • High level of Spanish and English.
