Job Description

The Go-To-Market (GTM) Integrations Team powers Docplanner’s growth by building secure, scalable APIs and services that connect our healthcare systems with external platforms. We enable providers and partners to integrate with third-party systems to exchange doctor availability and appointments, and to access our latest products leveraging AI to increase doctor efficiency. We prioritize efficiency, performance, observability, and high-quality support while handling millions of requests to ensure integration with Docplanner is smooth, reliable, and impactful.

Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 8+ years of experience across multiple modern programming languages to join our GTM Integrations Team. You will design and deliver public APIs and integration tools that extend Docplanner’s platform to third-party providers.

We are seeking engineers who are language-agnostic with strong fundamentals in scalability, reliability, observability, and software design. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex challenges and building robust, maintainable systems that can grow and adapt over time.

Why Our Team

Joining the GTM Integrations Team means becoming part of a group shaping the future of healthcare connectivity. We build APIs and services that handle millions of requests daily, enabling seamless interaction across platforms for doctors, patients, and partners. We value innovation, scalability, and reliability and aim to create technology that makes a real impact on people’s lives. You’ll find a collaborative environment where your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your contributions influence the healthcare journey of millions worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and observability.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain public APIs for healthcare system integrations.
  • Ensure high performance and robustness in high-traffic, mission-critical environments.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver well-designed, maintainable solutions.
  • Promote agile practices, CI/CD, and DevOps culture within the team.
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Support integration partners with reliable tooling and strong developer experience.
  • Explore and integrate emerging technologies, including AI/ML, where relevant to backend systems.
Qualifications
  • You’re a senior backend engineer with deep expertise in designing and building highly scalable, reliable, and observable systems.
  • Comfortable working across multiple modern programming languages.
  • Curious, collaborative, and thrive in cross-functional teams.
  • Passionate about creating backend architectures that perform under high load, recover gracefully from failures, and provide clear insights through observability.
  • Committed to clean, testable, and well-documented code that supports long-term maintainability.
  • Excited to tackle complex technical challenges at scale and make strategic system design decisions that enhance overall reliability and performance.
What Will Help You Thrive
  • 8+ years of experience designing and building scalable backend systems.
  • Strong expertise in designing distributed systems, async programming, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with message brokers, queues, or event-driven systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Solid knowledge of database design and optimization (SQL + NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native practices, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Strong grasp of software engineering best practices (SOLID, DRY, testing, CI/CD).
  • Proficiency in English (B2+) for effective collaboration.
What We Offer
  • Flexible remuneration and benefits system via Flexoh, including restaurant card, transportation card, kindergarten, and training tax savings;
  • Share options plan after 6 months of employment.
Benefits and Work Model
  • Remote or hybrid work model with a hub in Barcelona;
  • Flexible working hours (often only a couple of meetings weekly);
  • Summer intensive schedule in July and August (work 7 hours, finish earlier);
  • 23 paid holidays, with exchangeable local bank holidays;
  • Additional paid holiday on your birthday or work anniversary.
Health and Wellness
  • Private healthcare plan with Adeslas for you and subsidized for your family (medical and dental);
  • Access to hundreds of gyms for a symbolic fee in partnership with Wellhub;
  • Access to iFeel, a platform for mental wellness offering online psychological support and counseling.
Equal Opportunity
