The University of Navarra (UNAV) is a non-profit private university founded in 1952 and based in Pamplona, Spain. It offers 37 official degrees (including 14 double degrees) and 43 master’s programs, along with 19 doctoral programs, through 16 faculties and schools, 2 superior colleges, the IESE Business School, and 5 research centers: CCUN (Cancer Centre Clínica Universidad de Navarra), BIOMA (Biodiversity and Environment Institute), DATAI (Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence), ICS (Institute for Culture and Society), and CIN (Centre for Nutrition Research).

UNAV has over 13,500 students across 7 campuses: Pamplona, San Sebastian, Madrid, Barcelona, New York, Munich, and São Paulo, with a broad network of international universities and research centers.

The university has been awarded the HR Excellence in Research quality seal (HRS4R), ensuring adherence to the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

The purpose of these grants is to support the professional development of national and international researchers, enabling them to advance within the Spanish Science, Technology, and Innovation System (SECTI). They also aim to promote the creation of permanent positions and to facilitate the initiation or consolidation of research lines through funding for specific R&D+i projects, as well as the renovation of facilities, laboratories, and equipment.

Preferred research areas include: Cancer, Nutrition, Biodiversity, Environment, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Culture, Society, and Economy.

The university seeks established and talented researchers of recognized international standing who meet the following criteria:

  • PhD degree
  • R3 accreditation or equivalent
  • No current links with the beneficiary institution
  • Must not have benefited from the Ramón y Cajal program’s permanent position creation grant
  • Must not hold a permanent position at the beneficiary institution
