A leading recruitment agency is seeking a QC Inspector for a residential assignment in Avilés, Spain, to ensure quality control of subsea Production Manifolds. This role demands 15 years of experience in welding inspection, NDT Level 3 certification, and strong problem-solving skills. Overview

QC Inspector (Production Manifolds)

QC Inspector – Production Manifolds to provide quality control oversight at a fabrication worksite in Avilés, Spain. The role supports the delivery of subsea Production Manifolds and Foundations, ensuring they meet stringent HSE, technical, and quality standards throughout fabrication.

Location: Avilés, Spain | Residential | Start: January 2026

Duration: 12 months, renewable through early 2028

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all site activities comply with HSE rules, risk management processes, toolbox talks, and site safety instructions; proactively report anomalies and apply Stop Work authority when required.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of welding operations before, during, and after execution in line with ISO 3834-2, project specifications, WPS / PQR, and applicable industry codes.
  • Perform inspection and quality verification on CRA materials (Super Duplex, Inconel 625, F22) including buttering, overlay, and girth welding on Inconel 625 and Alloy 59.
  • Carry out advanced NDT techniques including UT, PAUT, MT, PT, and RT per ASME / DNV requirements.
  • Review and interpret WPS / PQR documentation and verify conformity during live production.
  • Inspect incoming materials against mill certificates and project requirements.
  • Support root cause analysis for welding defects and develop corrective actions with welding and production teams.
  • Identify, raise, and track deviations and nonconformities, ensuring timely closure without jeopardizing fabrication schedule or quality.
  • Prepare structured weekly inspection reports and maintain full compliance documentation.
  • Engage with contractor and subcontractor teams to resolve technical issues and quality concerns.
  • Participate in audits and support follow-up of associated actions.
  • Collaborate closely with site representatives, welding engineers, materials engineers, and project quality teams.
Qualifications
  • 15 years’ experience in welding inspection and quality control within subsea Production Manifolds or subsea structural fabrication.
  • Strong expertise in CRA materials and complex welding processes.
  • Certified Welding Inspector: CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2, CWI, or equivalent.
  • NDT Level 3 certification (UT & PAUT, RT, DPI).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and welding documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability for complex fabrication quality issues.
  • Fluent English; Spanish or French an advantage.
