Role Overview

As the Manager, QA, you will be responsible for leading a team of QA professionals, from Testers to Managers – to ensure the highest quality of 2K’s games and products. You will manage test processes, implement quality strategies, and ensure adequate staffing for assigned projects.

This role is full-time, onsite in Madrid, reporting to the Director, QA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Lead, mentor and grow a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement.
  2. Establish Quality standards, best practices and regulatory standards.
  3. Risk Management and mitigation, prioritization of testing efforts and timely resolution of issues.
  4. Feedback & liaison with Functional & Compliance QA, Producers, Developers, & other External Departments.
  5. Liaison with Platform Holders to ensure guidelines & standards compliance.
  6. Joint sign-off of development milestones & managing the submission process.
  7. Manage department through day-to-day business.
  8. Quarterly performance reviews of direct reports.
  9. Raising disciplinary issues as appropriate.
  10. Build successful working relationships with Worldwide Development Studios Internal & External, QA Department locally & globally, Local Producers, Platform Holders, Producers, and Developers, and Third Party Developers.
  11. Actively participate in recruiting and interview process.

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Extensive management experience, including performance management, performance evaluations, mentoring and growing skills in QA teams.
  2. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
  3. Successfully handling ambiguity, flexibility & understanding of the development and test process.
  4. Knowledge of bug database systems, QA process, test plan creation, and bug writing process.
  5. Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a QA Manager or equivalent.
  6. Knowledge of format holder standards (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo).
  7. Hardworking, reliable, punctual, flexibility to work unsociable hours depending on deadlines.
  8. Knowledge of MS Office suite, Source Control and Visual Studio.
  9. Technically proficient with PCs, gaming consoles, and related hardware.
  10. Outstanding ability to lead through influence.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Must be able to communicate effectively & successfully in English, in both written and oral forms.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
  3. Minimum of 6+ years of QA experience.
  4. Passion for the video games industry.
  5. Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools and processes.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and people management skills.
  7. Reliable, with the ability to lead in a matrixed team environment.
  8. Attention to detail and positive personality to foster excellent working relationships.
