Description

We’re looking for someone with an inquisitive mind, and dynamism in abundance! This is an exciting vacancy at a crucial time for Aurora. If you have strong interest in current affairs and possess the initiative to identify emerging topics within the energy sector for coverage, we’d love to hear from you. You will be responsible for managing our media presence, with a focus on media as well as institutional relations, strategic planning, monitoring and reporting, and enhancing the profile of our experts and brand.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Press Officer (Global) and coordinate with both the research and advisory teams, as well as external media contacts. The role will mainly cover Southwest Europe and Latin America regions. Strong reporting and writing abilities, effective communication skills, and adaptability in a dynamic marketplace are important requirements for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive media relations strategies for Iberia and Latin America, with potential for future geographic expansion
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key journalists in the energy sector; proactively identify newsworthy opportunities to enhance Aurora’s visibility in leading and targeted publications
  • Plan and coordinate media campaigns in alignment with broader marketing initiatives
  • Draft, review, and refine press releases, outreach materials, and talking points
  • Respond promptly to journalist inquiries and coordinate interviews with designated spokespeople
  • Secure media attendance at Aurora’s large events and negotiate strategic media partnerships
  • Act as a principal liaison for institutional relations, managing both existing memberships and pursuing new affiliations
  • Raise our regional experts profile with earned media placements and thought leadership
  • Monitor media coverage and provide detailed reports to senior management and regional teams
  • Ensure all activities align with global corporate messaging and overall marketing strategy
What we are looking for

Required attributes:

  • A degree and demonstrated experience in communications, public relations, journalism, news, or related fields
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and English; French is a plus
  • Experience planning and implementing cross-border media campaigns
  • Ability to assess news relevance and identify topics of interest for energy journalists and their audiences
  • Skills in managing and presenting complex forecast data in press releases
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with careful attention to detail
  • Confident working with senior executives and advising on media strategy
  • Knowledge of data analysis and media monitoring tools

Desirable attributes:

  • 2-3 years\' experience in energy or climate journalism preferred
  • Strong grasp of energy economics, policy, technology, and market trends
  • Established press network, ideally in Southwest Europe and Latin America
