Overview

We are looking for a Presales Data Engineer to join our Data Science team.

What will be your mission?

You will be the bridge between technical solutions and client needs, participating in the presales phase to design, validate, and present scalable and efficient data architectures. You will lead demos and workshops, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and support the sales team in building strategic proposals for international clients, with a special focus on the Italian market.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical side of presales processes: presentations, demos, workshops, and PoCs.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into viable and scalable technical solutions.
• Design reference architectures in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Prepare technical documentation to support commercial proposals.
• Work closely with sales teams, consultants, and clients.
• Stay up to date on Big Data, Cloud, and AI trends, bringing innovation into the presales process.
• Contribute to the growth of the Data & AI practice, sharing best practices and technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Presales Engineer, or in similar roles, preferably in consulting.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, and Java.
• Familiarity with the full Business Intelligence stack.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, distributed processing frameworks, data integration, and ETL tools (experience with modern stacks such as DBT, Mage, Databricks, or Data Factory is highly valued).
• Knowledge of data access control (IAM) and data security.
• Experience preparing technical proposals (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and delivering demos/PoCs.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle).
• Ability to work under pressure in complex organizational environments.
• Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly, persuasively, and with business impact.
• Languages: High level of Italian and native Spanish. A good level of English will be positively valued.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in Data Visualization projects with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, OAS, QuickSight, Looker (preference for Looker, especially in Semantic Layer development with LookerML or Cube.js).
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
