Formación

  • 10–15 years of progressive payroll experience.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish; knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.

Your main responsibility

  • Team Leadership & Compliance : Lead, coordinate, and supervise Payroll Managers across multiple regions; ensure consistent payroll execution, adherence to internal policies, and compliance with labor, tax, and accounting regulations. Analyze legislative changes and oversee implementation of required adjustments.
  • Process & Policy Management : Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements. Review and approve payroll changes, time sheets, bonuses, commissions, and flexible compensation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Serve as the primary contact for General Managers (GMs), Compensation & Benefits, Finance, and Legal teams on payroll matters, including audits and compliance. Address escalated issues and ensure professional, timely resolution.
  • Payroll Accuracy & Benefits Administration : Ensure accurate collection, validation, and processing of time data, salaries, deductions, benefits, taxes, and other payroll items. Oversee correct application of employee compensation and benefits plans.
  • Audit & Reporting : Oversee submission and payment of payroll taxes and social security contributions. Manage internal / external audits, review payroll reconciliations, and ensure financial integration. Prepare executive reports highlighting risks, trends, and improvement areas.
  • Project & Vendor Management : Lead special payroll-related projects (e.g., system implementations, process optimization, M&A integration, or international expansion). Maintain effective relationships with external vendors, ensuring service level compliance.
  • Education & Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. A Master's degree or postgraduate training in Payroll Management, Labor Law, or Compensation & Benefits is a strong plus.
  • Professional Experience : 10–15 years of progressive payroll experience, including 5–8 years in managerial or multi-country leadership roles. Demonstrated success managing payroll in multi-site or international environments, preferably in hospitality, retail, or similarly complex sectors.
  • Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of payroll systems and timekeeping tools with integration into HRIS and accounting platforms (e.g., SAP, Meta4, Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle). Solid understanding of local and international payroll laws, tax regulations, compliance standards (e.g., IRPF, SS, GDPR), and experience with benefits administration and flexible compensation schemes.
  • Leadership & Communication Skills : Strong leadership and team management abilities, including remote and cross-functional team coordination. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with senior management, finance, legal teams, and external vendors. Proven conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Compliance & Audit Management : Extensive experience in managing internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with legal and corporate standards. Ability to analyze regulatory changes and implement corresponding operational updates effectively.
  • Languages & Personal Attributes : Fluent in English and Spanish; knowledge of additional languages like Portuguese is an asset. Highly confidential and ethical, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage change, lead projects, and implement or transition payroll systems.
