Our client, a fast-growing textile and leather manufacturing partner with operations in Europe, Turkey and Morocco, specializes in product development, sourcing, procurement, and logistics. As part of its expansion, the client is opening a new commercial hub in Madrid to strengthen its global operations.
As part of this exciting strategic journey of expansion, we are looking for a Logistics Manager located in Madrid (Spain).
MISSION
The Logistics Manager, based in Madrid, is responsible for supervising and optimizing SF Trade’s international logistics and warehouse operations. The role ensures seamless coordination between customers, production factories (Turkey & Morocco), external warehouses (Barcelona & Germany), and logistics service providers. By consolidating customer demand data, preparing production and shipment plans, and arranging cost-effective logistics solutions, the Logistics Manager secures supply chain continuity and efficiency.
Primary based in Madrid, the Logistics Manager will travel regularly to Barcelona & Germany warehouses and occasionally travel to production sites (Izmir, Turkey & Tangier, Morocco) and suppliers / logistics providers across Europe.
FUNCTIONAL CONTENT
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for :
- Planning & Data Consolidation
- Consolidate customer demand data from portals / ERP systems into a unified logistics plan.
- Provide factories with production and shipment plans based on customer requirements.
- Monitor factory execution against plans; track deviations and implement corrective measures.
- Coordinate with sales, planning, and production teams to ensure alignment.
2. Warehouse Management (Barcelona & Germany)
- Supervise external warehouse service providers, ensuring service-level agreements (SLA), stock accuracy, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee inbound shipments from factories to warehouses and outbound shipments to customers.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock rotation (FIFO), and avoid obsolete / excess inventory.
- Ensure reporting accuracy from warehouse providers and reconcile data with ERP systems.
3. Logistics Operations & Service Providers
- Arrange best logistic solutions for inbound flow (suppliers → factories) and outbound flow (factories → warehouses / customers).
- Benchmark, negotiate, and contract freight forwarders and logistics providers for cost, speed, and reliability.
- Ensure customs, documentation, and compliance requirements are fulfilled (in collaboration with local specialists).
- Track transport performance (lead times, delivery accuracy, damages, costs).
4. Supervision of Specialists
- Manage and guide the Warehouse Planning Specialist and Logistics Specialists.
- Ensure cross-functional coordination between planning, logistics, and production.
- Set KPIs, monitor performance, and support development of team members.
5. Reporting & KPIs
- Prepare consolidated logistics and warehouse performance reports for management.
- Monitor and report KPIs : logistics costs, on-time delivery, warehouse efficiency, customer service levels.
- Provide insights into deviations and propose corrective actions.
6. Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
- Develop and implement process improvements for logistics planning, warehouse management, and transport efficiency.
- Identify risks (capacity constraints, customs delays, strikes, geopolitical risks) and establish contingency plans.
- Ensure logistics operations support company sustainability goals (energy efficiency, reduced emissions, optimized loads).
- Promote best practices in ERP / CRM usage (Microsoft Dynamics F&O preferred).
JOB PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 7+ years in logistics and supply chain management, including international warehouse and transport operations.
- Experience in managing 3PL warehouses and logistics providers.
- Strong background in demand consolidation, production planning, and international logistics optimization.
- Knowledge of customs and trade regulations (EU, Turkey, Morocco).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Dynamics BC - F&O preferred) and MS Office and ability to lead improvement efforts within the business system.
- Excellent command of English and Spanish; additional European languages (German - French) are a strong advantage.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset and influencing skills with ability to align logistics with commercial and production goals.
