The restaurant is searching for passionate, enthusiastic, dynamic, and proactive aspiring chefs worldwide seeking a once-in-a-lifetime professional and cultural experience in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Performing various food preparations, cooking, and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for patrons.
• Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
• Daily preparation of food items in the assigned outlet as well as other areas of the kitchen.
• Supplying clean and sanitized dishes to the dining room and kitchen stations, and operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment and supplies.
• Assisting the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Cooks, and other kitchen personnel in the production of menu items to ensure a high level of performance, guest satisfaction, and profitability.

Estimated Budget

• Projected monthly income: $2,400 (Hourly wage: $15)
• Projected housing costs: $600 / Month
• Meals provided during working hours

J1 Visa Program

This traineeship is part of a J1 visa program intended for young professionals or recent graduates to propel their careers, gain work experience, and improve their skills through cultural exchange.

The J1 Visa process and application fees total $1,870, broken down as follows :

• First payment due upon signing contract: $420 (non-refundable)
• Last payment due upon visa approval: $1,450 (includes $650 of mandatory health insurance)

Disclaimer: The first month of housing has to be paid by the candidate in advance. The employer does not cover airfare costs, which will vary depending on the candidate's city of departure.

About You / Qualifications

To be eligible for a J1 Visa, you must meet the following requirements:

• You’re between 18 and 35 years old.
• You graduated from an accredited institution, hold a degree related to the job position, and have at least 12 months of professional experience, OR
• You’re a young professional with at least 5 years of work experience in the field of interest.
• English Proficiency: Intermediate
