General Objective
- Experienced functional expert with IT background, specialized in aligning technology solutions with business needs based on the strategic objectives of Fundraising & Projects & IT departments. Works closely with partner teams in Fundraising.
- Translates stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications.
- Identifies opportunities for business and IT process improvements.
- Facilitates collaboration between technical and non-technical teams, promoting effective communication and problem-solving.
The IT Business Analyst will work within the Applications Unit in Projects & IT Office and will be hierarchically and functionally accountable to the Fundraising Evolution Applications Manager.
Main Responsibilities
- Obtain a deep understanding of MSF Spain Fundraising operations, their processes and automation through digital solutions; build high-quality requirements and recommend solutions.
- Solution designer: identify, design and support implementation of new functionalities to create value, including innovation and Artificial Intelligence where applicable.
- Business Process Analysis: map and document current processes, identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities; apply analysis to gather new needs from stakeholders.
- Data analysis: collect, analyze and optimize data models and information flow within the fundraising applications ecosystem to improve operational effectiveness and data quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and evolution of MSF’s fundraising applications ecosystem, aligning evolution roadmap with governance-driven priorities and strategic goals.
- Document and translate stakeholder needs into clear functional requirements; ensure clarity and consistency across teams.
- Ensure alignment of new functionalities with policies and protocols (Architecture, Information Security, GDPR).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with fundraising and IT teams to align objectives and ensure successful implementation.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions to resolve competing priorities and escalate issues as needed.
- Risk Analysis: assess risks associated with new solutions or changes.
- Agile Project Management: apply agile methodologies to manage projects and adapt to changing requirements.
- Reporting: produce artifacts such as business cases, scope documents, process flows, reports, dashboards and presentations for stakeholders.
- Impact Analysis: assess performance of initiatives using key metrics and propose adjustments.
- Keep up to date on latest technologies and applications through training and research.
Selection Criteria
Education and Expertise
- University Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or similar
- 3 years of experience in business analysis, project management (IT, Digital Transformation, etc.), architecture, data analysis or related roles
Technical Skills
- Process and functional analysis & documentation; experience with process mapping tools (e.g., LucidChart, GetMind); fundraising domain experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of PowerBI, Salesforce, Zapier.
- Data management: SQL, SOQL and integration platforms like Talend.
- System integration: API-based data flow between applications.
- Automation: experience with automation tools such as Zapier.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud (desirable).
Functional & Project Management Skills
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with diverse teams to align objectives and strategies.
- Communication and Change Management: lead process changes and adoption by teams.
- Clear Documentation: produce detailed, understandable documentation; familiarity with GitHub, Visio, etc.
- Agile Project Management: familiarity with Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with PM tools such as Project, Trello, Planner, etc.
Conditions
- Location: MSF Spain offices in Barcelona and Madrid (Bilbao, Sevilla and Valencia subject to capacity).
- Full-time position.
- Minimum 3-year commitment to the role.
- Annual gross salary: HQ-3B – 39.939€ (in 12 monthly payments) plus additional benefits per the MSF-OCBA Reward Policy.
