Your responsibilities
You will be working within the Unit Linked & Pension Funds team with the responsibility to analyze and oversee investment portfolios to outperform benchmarks and/or performance targets, ensuring risk-return profiles adhere to portfolio guidelines, are in line with risk appetite, and aligned with the investment strategy and constraints.
As an investment analyst reporting to the Head of Unit Linked & Pension Funds, your key tasks & accountabilities will be:
- Support development and implementation of the unit-linked investment strategy.
- Support development of the ESG integration approach for unit-linked assets in collaboration with the UL central team.
- Conduct research and due diligence on funds across all asset classes, including alternative investments.
- Oversee the performance of existing funds/ETFs to outperform reference benchmarks in various market conditions.
- Perform and document fund selection and ESG analyses within the retail fund universe.
- Analyze asset classes and market sectors to assess their relative performance and recommend portfolio adjustments.
- Assist in performance attribution analysis to explain differences between portfolio and benchmark returns.
- Identify attractive investment opportunities and trends, as well as undesirable style drifts or adverse developments.
- Stay informed on local and global markets and macroeconomic factors affecting investment strategies to support decision-making.
Your Skills and Experience
Ideally, your skills and qualifications will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics with an economic background; actuarial science & finance, economics with strong quantitative skills.
- MSc in quantitative finance, financial markets, or CFA qualification is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in a related field, preferably within an insurance company.
- Expertise in fund selection.
- Experience in investment management and risk/return indicators.
- Deep knowledge of capital markets, financial products, and economic theory.
- Team-oriented, proactive, positive attitude, enthusiasm for financial markets.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus but not required.
