In this role you will
  • Lead our strategic growth agenda in Spain: define and implement our M&A and business development strategy in Spain, including the identification of acquisition and partnership opportunities as well as strategies for transactions.
  • Steer M&A processes & deals: you will be responsible for all M&A processes in Spain. With support from the Group M&A team and the Country Head you will own the management of the process end‑to‑end, including scouting the entire due diligence process, valuation and post‑merger integration as well as the systematic search, identification and proactive initial contact of potential targets for M&A or partnering.
  • Network: leverage and expand your network in the ophthalmology industry to identify new growth opportunities for Sanoptis. You will travel frequently to locations and potential targets and maintain close contact with doctors as potential buyers to learn to understand and read the target group.
  • Present investment recommendations: prepare and present materials to enable decisions by C‑level & the Board, including financial analysis and strategic considerations.
  • Play a key role in shaping our Spanish market: build and define our local organization as we expand in Spain. Act as a key sparring partner to the Head of Spain and the Sanoptis leadership team in shaping our footprint in this market.
You will closely work with
  • A dedicated country team in Spain consisting of a Country Head, Finance, Operations, Marketing and M&A.
  • Our highly qualified M&A Manager in Spain as your direct report and the Group M&A team to leverage cross‑border collaboration.
  • Renowned physicians including some of the leading experts and pioneers in the field of ophthalmology.
Your profile includes
  • Extensive work experience in a fast‑paced environment such as PE‑backed buy‑and‑build companies or similar environments (e.g. consulting or investment banking).
  • A background in M&A and/or transaction services ideally with experience in healthcare.
  • A passion for dealmaking and the ambition to drive the company’s growth with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • The willingness to dive in and create strategic as well as operational excellence within Sanoptis M&A activities. You have both an analytical mindset and a strong hands‑on mentality and solve challenges practically and with a focus on results.
  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding performance and the ability to create present and communicate business and financial analysis at the executive level.
  • An assertive negotiation‑savvy personality with strong communication skills. High stress tolerance and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent Spanish skills (Level C2) and very good English skills (Level B2 and above).
  • A high willingness to travel.
