About Our Client
Our client is a Marine Survey and Environmental Consultancy company with its own accredited laboratories. The company specializes in the marine environment and offshore projects, delivering geophysical, geotechnical, and environmental survey services to industries including oil & gas, renewables, submarine cables, and ports.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, validate, and propose geophysics methodologies (Choice of equipment, procedures, and software) in line with Marine Survey industry best practices.
- Present the most cost-efficient and quality-optimized geophysical techniques to deliver projects under contract requirements and within budget constraints.
- Provide support and/or troubleshoot technical issues when vessel crew and Data Scientists encounter challenges beyond their technical expertise.
- Be available to review the quality of all geophysical data.
- Assist in assessing chartered vessels.
- Support the Tender and Sales team by providing technical inputs and validating bid operational strategies, including validation of the line plans, equipment, etc.
- Contribute to the improvement of the Marine Scientists and Data Scientists skills. Coach the team to improve the quality of the work performed.
- Collaborate with the Data Center team providing pertinent geophysical inputs to optimize the processing, interpretation, and reporting of the acquired data.
- Propose proven technical advances to continually advance company techniques.
- Work closely with the QHSE team to identify hazards and define corresponding mitigation action plans.
- Retrieving data. Wait a few seconds and try to cut or copy again.
- Assess and investigate new/ breakthrough technologies (AUV, USV, etc.) - Build a technical case.
- Assist in performing competency assessments and performance evaluations.
- The Head of Geophysics may be appointed as the Project Manager for specific projects.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the manager.
Candidate Profile
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in geoscience disciplines.
- 10 years of demonstrated experience as a geophysicist.
- Proficiency in QINSy, Qimera, NaviSuite, CARIS, QPS, HYPACK, SonarWiz, AutoCAD/AutoCHART, or GIS applications.
- English mandatory (100%), Spanish desired, French is a plus.
- Technical knowledge of MBES, SSS, SBP, MAG, and UHRS surveys (Acquisition + Processing).
