Overview

At ING we are looking for a Finance Business Partner Lead (temporary).

Your role and work environment :

We are looking for a knowledgeable and delivery-oriented Finance Business Partner Lead that would like to take an exciting opportunity in ING Spain for helping us to define and drive our ambition to be a strategic partner to senior management and business leaders.

This is an ad-interim position for a 1-year period leading the Finance Business Partner team within Management Accounting in the CFO function. You will lead a team of 7 professionals and act as an advisor to the key business leaders in the bank (Retail Tribes Wholesale Banking Leadership & GT). You will have an end-to-end perspective of our key products (Income, Pricing, Expenses, Balances, profitability and performance ratios) and translate this into a long-term vision, compare with current performance and external market trends, and initiate initiatives to execute the strategy. You will prepare regular updates to Product Leadership and other key stakeholders to monitor and report on performance.

You will operate in a dynamic environment with exposure to senior leaders, with growth potential and real impact on the bank's future. You will receive close support from your manager and peers in delivering duties and in your professional development.

You are a collaborative professional who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals. You combine strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to communicate to senior leadership and translate analyses into concise written and verbal presentations and reports.

Your key responsibilities :

What you’ll be doing as a Finance Business Partner Manager :

  • Act as a linking pin between business leadership and the finance function to ensure the bank's strategy and financial ambition are known, shared, and embraced as one team.
  • Understand, monitor, and forecast business performance.
  • Full control and analysis of actual figures, including external/internal income, risk, costs, RWA and balance sheet developments.
  • Active forecasting in close cooperation with business representatives.
  • Ongoing development and refinement of financial models with deep business knowledge (actuals & forecast).
  • Being the finance partner to business stakeholders.
  • Ad hoc analyses & research to support key strategic initiatives & pricing.
  • Share insights and challenge end-to-end performance.
  • Collaborate on and challenge new business development proposals.
  • Translate analyses and performance into concise and powerful presentations.
  • Strategy papers and presentations (ExCo offsites, meetings with senior management).
  • Business performance monitoring.
  • Local committees (ALCO, Pricing, etc.).
  • Drive continuous team development, process controls improvement.
  • Inspire and challenge the team to develop skills and achieve peak performance.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to free up resources for value-added analysis.
  • Improve implementation, automation, and documentation of controls to strengthen key processes.
  • Contribute to the strategic partnering / financial planning function in finance with cross-functional strategic discussions on: analyses on efficiency and performance metrics; strategy papers and presentations; performance review sessions (MIS, QPC, ExCo reports); local committees (ALCO, Pricing, etc.).
  • Keep curiosity with market research and competition monitoring.

  • Masters or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience (preferably in banking and/or consulting).
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Good analytical skills; understanding of advanced financial modeling and model optimization/automation.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Well-developed cooperation and communication skills to act as a linking pin with all departments and colleagues involved.
  • Ability to work at an international level.
  • Minimum experience managing teams.
