A leading technology company is looking for a resource in Madrid, Spain, to execute maintenance activities on railway measuring systems. The role requires at least two years of experience in the electronic or automotive fields, along with fluent communication skills in both Spanish and English. Responsibilities include planning maintenance activities, conducting inspections, and providing local support to specialists. This position requires frequent travel and a strong technical background in electronics or mechanical engineering.

Formación

Position Mission

The resource will report to the specific After Sales Manager.

The resource will be responsible of execution of maintenance activities on the whole fleet of systems installed in the Area of reference and to operate computers and hardware of the Measuring Systems installed on board during the railway measurements campaigns.

The ideal candidate has an electromechanical field execution background, with at least two years of working experience in electronic, automotive, railway industry, good communication and autonomy skills, it’s mandatory a good knowledge of Spanish and English (preferable).

Suggest improvements in product collecting information and lessons learned from field.

In addition, it is requested also to manage all the logistic issues related to the service activities, like shipping of materials, responsibility of tools and spare parts warehouse and support the activities to be eventually performed by the system’s specialists, on site or remotely from Italian Offices, purchase of common materials on site.

Responsibilities

• Execution of ordinary and extraordinary Maintenance of High Tech equipment on rail vehicle (coach roof / underframe)
• Execution of ordinary and extraordinary Maintenance of cooling piping, water piping and air piping
• Planning and Tracking of the periodical maintenance activities
• Planning and Tracking of the corrective maintenance activities
• Cabling and interconnections between equipment, including power supply
• Able to perform calibration & tuning of the Monitoring Systems;
• Participating in measurement campaigns on the customer’s rail network;
• Operate the computers and hardware of Monitoring Systems during the inspection runs;
• Submit the on-board track inspection results and reports to customer;
• Perform basic troubleshooting on Monitoring Systems;

Operation of SW Measuring systems, management of data storage, configuration of systems

Provide local support for the system’s specialists, on site or remotely from Italian Offices

Management of spare parts on customer facilities

Suggesting improvement in product at 360°

Management of Customer Referent directly involved and first assistant

Diagnosis, Investigation and Problem Solving

Technical Skills, Qualifications and Professional Experience

Technical background in Electronics / Computer science / Informatics / Mechanical engineering

At least 2 years of relevant experience (working experience in electronic, automotive, railway or oil & gas industry)

Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English (preferrable), strong communication skills

Organized, result oriented, pressure tolerating and reliable with continuous improvement and problem solving- attitude

Windows OS and LAN network installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting (preferably)

Railway geography, system, and track structure knowledge (preferably)

Capability of reading and understanding electrical and mechanical drawings

Use and knowledge of basic tools, basic crimping tools as well as test equipment like oscilloscope, Signal generator

Knowledge of main communication protocol

Expertise of the basic electrical activities like cabling, crimping, soldering, networking

Knowledge of conduits / cable path for data and power transmission between the systems

Knowledge of cabling for electrical and special railway components like connector and termination for rail application, military connector and termination for rail application, MT and BT connector, fiber-optic termination (preferrable)

Expertise of the basic mechanical activities like drilling, threading, sealing, cutting, painting

Knowledge of cooling piping, water piping and air piping plant installation (preferred)

Electrical soldering and Connector crimping and soldering

Ability to travel much of the year; daily or weekly, typically from Monday to Friday, from town to town, and the overnight stays are arranged in hotels
