The Role

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining databases, ensuring their security, performance, and availability, as well as managing backups and recovery. You will join a dynamic team where you will also perform monitoring tasks, troubleshooting, system updates, and provide support to developers and users.

Hybrid work model: 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.

This role requires participation in 24x7 on‑call rotations.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy new databases while applying security policies and best practices.
  • Lead and support production environments, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly and accurately, providing root cause analysis, resolution, and continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Developers and Architects to implement configurations based on requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation for installations, changes, and upgrades.
  • Train Junior Engineers on database administration and new implementations.
  • Contribute to the improvement and optimization of services through documentation, scripts, and automation.
  • Maintain clear communication and a positive attitude.
Who You Are
Technical and Professional Requirements

Minimum experience: 4–5 years administering:

  • Oracle Database (19c, 12c)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (2012, 2019, 2022)
  • MongoDB (v4 to v7)
  • PostgreSQL (12, 13, 16)
  • ElasticSearch (7, 8)
Additional valued experience
  • MySQL, MariaDB
  • Middleware systems
  • Task automation (shell scripting: ksh, bash, PowerShell, Ansible)
  • Backup systems (TSM, Commvault)

Proven experience in:

  • Database Administration, ASM and disk volume management
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures
Monitoring tools (Zabbix and Nagios)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity: incident response, vulnerability management, security architecture, standards, risk analysis.
Languages Required
  • Spanish
  • Intermediate English
  • Catalan
Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree
