We’re looking to you to implement, plan and design a variety of challenging and rewarding engineering projects. Your work will involve partnering with an engineering team and customers to define the scope and needs of specific projects. You will then translate the needs assessment into strategic project designs that accomplish business goals while adhering to financial budget and timeline guidelines. You will take on design responsibilities, analysis, drafting, design review for compliance and safety adherence, and customer contract requirements. Work may occasionally require some evening and weekend hours. You will:
- Research national and international building codes, and standards to determine wind, snow, seismic and other governing loads
- Apply national and international building codes, standards, and engineering principles to analyze and design tracker structures, connections, and components using analytical tool based and computational based methods
- Define tracker components required specific to the projects based on project design, create bill of materials of tracker components based on design, availability, and inventory restrictions
- Work with drafting team to transform design into customer facing drawings and create the drawing packages to supply to the customers
- Create a detailed tracker structure design report, and work with Professional Engineers/firms to certify the calculations and drawings of every project
- Schedule bill of materials, engineering drawings and document preparation for every project
- Provide technical support to the customer on design, drawings, loads calculation, and product related discussions
- Perform custom design of tracker structure, communicate product changes to customer when necessary
- Work on change requests on projects from customers when necessary
- Write technical documentation for systems or system components as needed
- Involve in providing technical advice to the team, and work on development of new analysis and design methodologies, and interpersonal trainings
- Work with global sales, and direct customer facing engineering team to support projects nationally and internationally
- Provide timely responses to Request for Information (RFI) from customer
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and assist service team
- Work with component testing team to generate loads and documents for testing
- Perform other duties as assigned
The Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, geotechnical, or mechanical engineering discipline
- 4 years of engineering design and project management experience
- 1 year Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience to model structure, analysis and design in software such as SAP2000, STAAD or equivalent others
- Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD tools
- Working knowledge of National building code standards like ASCE, AISC, and IBC

- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other engineers
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with international structural building codes and standards
- Experience in Civil 3d, topographical analysis.
- Experience in the solar industry or wind industry
- Knowledge of SolidWorks
- QGis, ArcGIS or similar suite experience
- Geotechnical, and foundation design experience
