Vodafone is seeking a Big Data Engineer to join its dynamic global community. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and managing applications that process large amounts of data in Google Cloud Platform.

As a key member of the team, you will provide expert guidance on sourcing and integrating structured and unstructured data from multiple local data sources into a data lake.

Requirements :

• Expertise in public cloud PaaS, CaaS, and IaaS tools and environments, particularly with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• High experience with cloud services related to DWH and Big Data development, preferably using Google Cloud Platform services like Data Fusion, Data Flow, and BigQuery.
• Expert-level experience with Hadoop ecosystem, including Spark, Hive / Impala, HBase, and Yarn.
• Spanish language proficiency and an Advanced level of English.
• Strong software development skills in Java, Scala, or Python programming languages, with knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) concepts.
• Experience working with Unix-based systems, including bash programming.
• Good exposure to distributed technologies and CI / CD tools like Jenkins, Gitlab / Github, Nexus, or equivalent.
• Agile environment experience and willingness to learn new skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience working with Terraform, Ansible, and common scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Ruby.
• Knowledge of Kafka or similar real-time data processing technologies.
• Qualification / Education : Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or other STEM fields.
