Formación

As the Assistant Controller – EMEA

at Gurobi Optimization, you will oversee financial operations for our European division, focusing on Germany. Your responsibilities include supporting financial statement preparation and analysis, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and improving internal controls and processes. You will collaborate with global teams to ensure accurate reporting and strategic financial planning, reporting to the Global Controller. What will you be doing?

  • Managing accounting close and reporting for Gurobi’s European operations, specifically Gurobi GmbH, under US GAAP, including consolidation and foreign currency translations.
  • Handling transfer pricing and inter-company transactions.
  • Ensuring statutory reporting compliance, including VAT and other tax obligations.
  • Supporting tax compliance submissions and financial statement audits.
  • Transforming and scaling financial reporting processes to meet local standards (German HGB).
  • Analyzing cash flow for German subsidiaries and advising on intra-group cash transfers.
  • Ensuring compliance with German tax laws and managing cash disbursements.
  • Maintaining foreign currency reporting and assisting with risk management.
  • Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and evaluating significant transactions or expansion plans.
  • Managing financial systems and ERP software, supporting upgrades and process improvements.

What experience and qualifications should you have?

  • Over 5 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in tech/software growth-stage companies.
  • Proficiency and certification in German HGB standards and experience with US GAAP.
  • Knowledge of German tax regulations, VAT, and cross-border taxation.
  • Experience with international consolidations, transfer pricing, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems like NetSuite, CRM systems like Salesforce, and MS Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fields.
  • Chartered accountant, CPA, or similar certification.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.
  • Fluency in German and English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
