YOUR CONTRIBUTION

As Senior Area Manager China & APAC for our Partner Business, you will be responsible for driving revenue and EBIT growth with a primary focus on China as the key strategic market, while also overseeing selected APAC countries. You will achieve this through the implementation of effective sales, marketing, and commercial strategies in close collaboration with regional and local partners. The role includes optimizing the commercial performance of the existing product portfolio, developing concepts and strategies to further expand the partner business, and ensuring the efficient launch of new products.

  • Target Definition & Performance Management: Set and achieve annual sales and profitability targets for the region, ensuring transparent performance tracking.
  • Strategic Business Development: Drive growth strategies in collaboration with regional partners and internal stakeholders, aligned with corporate objectives.
  • China Market Leadership: Oversee business activities and partnerships in China, leveraging local expertise and cultural understanding.
  • Sales Channel Optimization & Product Launches: Enhance sales channels and manage effective product launches with distribution partners.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with internal teams (Logistics, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Finance) for smooth operations.
  • Partner Management: Develop and evaluate partners through regular reviews and joint planning.
  • Project Management & Market Expansion: Execute projects with external partners to open new markets and create business opportunities.
  • Life Cycle Management: Implement initiatives to grow and protect the portfolio, including KPI analysis and market insights.
  • Strategic Partnership Management: Build and maintain long‑term partnerships, including licensing agreements, for sustainable growth.
YOUR PROFILE
  • Strong background in commerce and marketing and higher education degree in business studies/management.
  • Minimum 8 years in a comparable role within the pharmaceutical industry, including proven in‑market experience in China and international exposure.
  • Strong track record in managing holistic partnerships, such as licensing agreements, across APAC.
  • Excellent English and fluent Mandarin skills; additional languages (e.g., Japanese) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP; solid project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization, results‑oriented, strong negotiation and communication skills, intercultural competence.
  • Intercultural understanding and skills as well as high flexibility to travel.
  • Proactive team player with organizational talent, analytical mindset, and solution‑oriented approach.
