We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead infrastructure efforts within secunet's Software Factory. This role involves working across various secunet locations with occasional travel, focusing on developing and maintaining secure, reliable IT infrastructure.

The Software Factory is secunet's innovation program dedicated to creating new product classes through advanced, security-focused shared components and a DevSecOps platform supporting the entire product lifecycle. The team is dynamic, innovative, and growth-oriented.

Your responsibilities include combining software and systems engineering to build and operate IT infrastructure, monitoring system capacity and performance, and ensuring high uptime. You will focus on automation, infrastructure development, and system optimization.

• Rust
• Terraform
• OpenTelemetry

1. Maintain, extend, and improve infrastructure
2. Ensure observability across services (visualization, alerting, log aggregation)
3. Design and manage Nix build infrastructure
4. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners
5. Align strategies with secunet's internal IT
6. Document work for users and developers
7. Ensure security of services using modern technologies

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience in architecting and operating on-premises deployments
• Extensive experience with NixOS ecosystem
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
• Open source contribution experience
• Programming skills in Rust, Python, Go, or similar languages
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
• German language skills are a plus but not required
