Job Description:

We're looking for an experienced software engineer to lead the infrastructure efforts of secunet's Software Factory.

The Software Factory is secunet's innovation program, designed to develop new product classes with a focus on security. It includes a team of motivated engineers working on shared components and a DevSecOps platform supporting the entire product lifecycle. This position involves both software and systems engineering to build and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. Your work will focus on infrastructure development, optimization, and automation to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, extend, and improve our infrastructure
• Ensure observability across services (visualization, alerting, log aggregation)
• Design, build, and own Nix build infrastructure
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners
• Align with internal IT strategies
• Document infrastructure and processes
• Ensure security using modern technologies

Qualifications:

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience architecting and operating on-premises deployments
• Extensive experience with NixOS ecosystem
• Know-how in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
• Contributions to open source
• Programming skills in Rust, Python, Go, or similar
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
• German language skills are a plus
