What is the opportunity?
Fixed-term Contractor (FTC) AML Manager for 6 months, based in Frankfurt, Paris, or London.
You will support the RBC EG MLRO, senior management, and business units in embedding AML compliance into the company culture.
Your responsibilities include aligning AML regulatory priorities, maintaining relationships with regulators and auditors, establishing a strong control environment, and communicating financial crime risks to senior management.
What will you do?
- Assist the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for RBC Capital Markets (Europe) GmbH in overseeing the AML framework across all RBC EG branches.
- Test AML Transaction Monitoring alerts.
- Investigate client and payment sanctions screening alerts and escalate as needed.
- Draft and submit Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports (STORs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to authorities under the guidance of the Head of AML Germany.
- Implement and review AML, CTF, Sanctions, and ABAC policies to ensure compliance with German AML laws.
- Contribute to the annual risk analysis related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Work with business groups to assess AML, ATF, Sanctions, and ABAC risks for new products and services prior to launch.
- Assist in preparing and submitting AML regulatory reports, identify control gaps, and develop remediation plans.
- Create AML training materials and deliver training sessions, addressing any training gaps.
- Participate in external and internal AML audits, address findings, and ensure remediation.
- Manage AML compliance testing issues and conduct additional local testing activities.
- Act as the primary liaison with key stakeholders, escalating legal, regulatory, or reputational issues to senior management.
- Oversee the financial crime compliance framework, including high-risk clients.
- Engage with Global Economic Sanctions (GES) and ABAC teams on sanctions and bribery concerns.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- AML compliance experience within financial institutions or regulators.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
- Knowledge of wholesale/capital markets and AML laws, including WpHG, WpIG, GWG, BaFin guidelines, and EBA standards.
- Understanding of outsourcing standards and policies.
- Accountability, initiative, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
